Agents

Reusable legal tasks that run the same careful steps every time.

An agent is a written set of instructions for a multi-step job (the steps, the deliverable and the accuracy rules) that Aria follows on the documents you give it. Start from eight built-in litigation agents, or write your own and share it with your firm.

How it works

Pick an agent, add documents, get the deliverable.

  1. Choose an agentPick one of the eight built-in agents or one your firm has written.
  2. Add documents and detailsUpload PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or text files, or pasted text, and fill in the agent’s fields, such as the witness, our client’s position or a due date.
  3. Ground it in a courtAgents that work with filings can use the selected court’s stored filing rules for page limits, formatting and required sections.
  4. Review and use the outputA memo, table, checklist or document draft. Download as Word (.docx) or PDF (tables also as Excel), save it to the Library or send it to Citation Check.

Key capabilities

Your firm’s way of doing the work, written down once.

Write your own agents

Give it a name, instructions in plain language, the fields a user fills in, whether documents are required, and the kind of output: memo, table, checklist or document draft.

Private or firm-shared

Keep an agent to yourself while you refine it, then share it with everyone in your firm.

Start from a built-in

Duplicate a built-in agent and adjust its steps to your practice instead of starting from a blank page.

Court grounding

Agents can be grounded in a court’s stored filing rules. When the stored rules don’t cover something, the agent is told to say so rather than guess.

Output you can use

Download as Word (.docx) or PDF (tables also as Excel), save it to the Library or send it to Citation Check.

Run history

Each agent keeps an activity list of past runs: when, by whom and on which documents. Open any run to read its output again.

Trust and safety

Accuracy rules in every agent.

  • Every built-in agent ends with the same accuracy rules: never invent facts, quotations, case names, citations or page numbers; quote the documents exactly; write "Not found" instead of guessing; flag anything uncertain with [Verify].
  • The opposition-outline agent doesn’t supply case citations of its own: it leaves "[Authority needed]" placeholders and a list of research tasks.
  • AI output is a draft for attorney review. Aria's answers are labelled "Drafted by Aria · review before relying on it".
  • Aria is instructed never to invent citations, quotations or facts, and to flag what it can't verify. Run Citation Check before you rely on any authority.

Your firm's documents stay in your firm's workspace, separated from other firms at the database level. The text needed for a request is sent to the AI model provider to produce the answer.

Read exactly what is sent, what is kept and for how long in Security & data handling and the Trust Center, including the subprocessor list.
